Speaker's profile

Ming Xiu is the Founder of Campus PSY (Peer Support for Youths), a “By Youths, For Youths” ground-up social movement that aims to promote mental health awareness and peer support among youths in the tertiary institutions through advocacy. Campus PSY also equips youth ambassadors with appropriate mental health literacy and peer helping skills, so that they are empowered to support other youths in need and advocate for the cause. It also serves the mental health community through active volunteerism, so as to create a caring and inclusive society.

Ming Xiu is also the Co-Chair for the Youth Alliance, consisting of government agencies, social service, youth sector organisations and the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), alongside the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) for the nation-wide Mental Health Anti-Stigma Campaign, “Beyond the Label”, which aims to address the prevailing stigma towards youths with mental health issues in the IHLs through public education, outreach and support.

He is also a Circle Member of Tote Board’s First Shared Gifting Circle for Children & Youth Mental Health in Singapore. Alongside seven other selected Circle Members, they will collectively deliberate and determine how best to use public funds towards collective objectives in the development of Community Based Mental Health Services for Children and Youth to build stronger networks and a mentally resilient community among our youths.
