Sumaiyah Mohamed is currently a programme coordinator and volunteer coordinator at Club HEAL, a social service that empowers persons in recovery from mental health challenges.
She is the programme coordinator for “Our HEALing Voice” which aims to equip peers to share their stories to inspire others and gain experience in peer mentoring. She also writes for Club HEAL’s publications, such as their books and newsletters.
She has lived experience with schizophrenia and depression. She is currently undergoing training to be a certified peer support specialist. Through her lived experience, she has found a deeper meaning to her purpose in life which is to mutually learn from peers and empower each other towards recovery and resilience.
Sumaiyah is a mother to her beautiful daughter and enjoys writing and journaling, reading, long walks in the park, and drinking warm coffee!
